Conflict Inquiry Best Practices
The Juris Conflict function is customizable by allowing the user to determine which areas of the database to search. Boolean logic can be used to get specific results that are relevant to the task, and wildcards are available when the exact search criteria are unknown or when there is a change of multiple spellings.
Best Practices for Using Conflict:
- Customize Fields Searched: Check the Juris Conflict Search Settings on the Conflict tab in Firm Options to customize which fields are included in the conflict searches that are performed.
- Use Boolean Operators: Review the lessons on using Boolean operators (Or, And, And Not) to assure that each search is performing optimally.
- Use Wildcards: Do not miss a potential conflict due to a misspelled word. Use Wildcards to expand the search when spelling may be an issue.
-
Review Search Criteria Options: In order to assure you are familiar with all Conflict search techniques, review the Conflict Search Criteria.
