If you did NOT have Check Rec in "Classic", you
won't be able to use "Void Check" in Juris to void a converted
check. Instead, you
will have to post Journal Entries.
Classic Check Reconcile conversion is not always
clean because Classic allowed re-use of check numbers and Juris doesn't.
One un-cleared item allowed per check #. If a check is not showing on void the check
list, it is not because of the conversion necessarily, it is because the check is marked
as "cleared" - either because it cleared the bank, or the client
didn't have check reconcile in Classic so everything converted as 'cleared'.
If you did have Check Rec in Classic, and the check
is still outstanding (not cleared), you can use "Void Check".
However,
the journal entry created will debit the bank account - asset GL# and
credit the default GL in the "Firm" vendor. You will
have to do a journal entry if the credit needs to go to another account.
The software does not
convert G/L distributions for any vouchers except for A/P open items.
The solution is to add a reconciling
entry to the bank reconcile AND interface to the G/L that way. Remember the rule
about never doing anything to your cash balance except through bank reconcile?
If the voiding of this check should affect a 1099 amount, the Vendor 1099
Supplemental field will have to be used. You will also need to do a negative
expense entry for the client/matter.
