Matter Status/Lock

A matter’s status in Juris must be ‘O – Open Matter’ or the entry of time slips will not be permitted for the matter.  The matter’s lock flag must be ‘0 – Allow Time and expenses’ or ‘3 – Allow time, disallow expenses’ or the entry of time slips will not be permitted for the matter.

Import Time Entries

Time may be imported into Juris as long as the time batch information is formatted according to Juris time import specifications. The file must be in current ASCII delimited or CSV (Comma Separated Values) format.

To import time entries:

  1. Select Transactions > Time Entries.
  2. Select ToolsImport from the menu.
  3. Select an import option. This determines what action, if any, is to be taken on the imported file(s) after import is complete.
    • Keep original file name after importing. Select this option to leave the import file in its original location. The file will not be renamed.
    • Rename files after importing. Select this option to rename the imported files, leaving them in their original location. Files are renamed by changing the last letter of the file extension to 0. For example, Importfilename.csv would be changed to Importfilename.cs0.
    • Delete files after importing. Select this option to delete the file. There will not be a way to recover the import file if it is needed later.
    • Move files after importing. (Recommended) Select this option to move the import file to a different location. After selecting this option, click the Browse button and browse to folder where you want to move the file.

NOTE: The File Type may need to be changed to view All Files (*.*) in order to view and select the appropriate file.

  4. Click OK.
The import process starts. When completed, the time is inserted in a new, normal time batch.
