Backup Calendars
The following illustrates two examples of a yearly backup calendar. In these examples, the firm is using a tape backup. However, the same system could apply to file backups as well. The label names for the backup media used below are for example only. You may use any name that you wish, as long as it matches the Media Name you chose in the Management Console.
Example One:
In this example, the firm wishes to make daily backups (Monday through Friday), plus a monthly backup that is overwritten quarterly, plus an annual backup that is kept in perpetuity. The firm performs month-end backups on the last business day of each month, and year-end backups on the last business day of December.

Example Two:

A monthly backup will be made that is overwritten quarterly, and an annual backup is made that is kept in perpetuity. The firm performs month-end backups on the last business day of each month and a year-end backup on the last business day of December.
