Shrink
Caution: The shrink function is not compatible with SQL 2005/2008 and SQL Express 2005/2008.
The Shrink utility decreases the size of the Juris database and JBills. This also can improve the performance of your Juris system because data is reorganized in a more concise fashion. This will help your server from having to scan large of segments of data for the information it needs.
-
To begin the Shrink utility, click the Shrink link in the Juris Management Console. See Figure 1.0
Figure 1.0
- The first screen
displayed explains the Shrink function. Click the forward
button to continue. See Figure 2.0

- There are three different ways to run the Shrink utility:
- Organize Only – The database will restructure itself, reducing any fragmented portions.
- Truncate Only – As information is input and deleted from the database, a great deal of "blank" space may be left at the end of the database. The Truncate option removes any trailing blank space from the end of the database file.
- Organize and Truncate – Performs both the "Organize only" and "Truncate only" functions explained above.
Make your selection and click the forward arrow to continue. See Figure 3.0

- Click the Finish button to begin the process. See Figure 4.0

- A report automatically displays at the end of the procedure. It
contains information on the Juris database and also the JBills (archived
bills) file when applicable. It
may be printed if needed to be saved for record keeping. See Figure 5.0
