Hierarchy of Permissions in Juris Suite

Permission Settings allow or prevent access to a particular Juris Suite software feature. The person who acts as the Juris Administrator is responsible for granting or denying access as appropriate.

Firm: Permissions set at the firm level affect all users of Juris Suite and are applied along with those permissions that are set at the group and user level. This level is usually used to make global permission settings.

Group: Permissions set at the group level affect all users who are members of that group, and are applied along with those permissions that are set at the firm and user level. This level is usually used to assign access to more secure areas of Juris Suite.

User: Permissions set at the user level affect only that specific user, and are applied along with those permissions that are set at the firm and group level. This level us usually used to set specific permissions on a user by user basis.

Permissions can be set at three different levels; firm, group and user, and can be set to any one of three states:

• Note Set - This is the default permission for all features in Juris Suite.
• Grant - This permission overrides the Not Set permissions.
• Deny - This permission overrides both the Grant and Not Set permissions
